Once the penny school of Robert Louis Stevenson, this unique one-room schoolhouse has served as the base for the 46th Edinburgh Company of the Boy's Brigade, a mission hall and much more throughout its long history. Today, the building is home to Canonmills Church - a vibrant church whose congregation has a long history of loving, and supporting, the arts.
Accessibility
There are two shallow steps at the building’s entrance and a collapsible ramp we have makes the building wheelchair accessible. Once inside, everything is on one level with no further steps. We have an Induction Loop for hearing aid users. Our building has two non-gendered toilets – with one being accessible. The accessible toilet includes a baby changing table. . Full venue site is accessible, Wheelchair accessible toilet, No reserved accessible parking, No on street blue badge parking, Assistance dogs welcome in all areas. We are directly across the road from the BP Petrol Station. The bus stop outside the church's entrance is called ‘Canonmills’ and serves Lothian buses: - 9 (Muirhouse-King’s Buildings) - 8 (Muirhouse-Royal Infirmary) - 36 (Gyle Centre-Ocean Terminal). There is on-street parking in the local area, paid Monday-Saturday
