Scotland's original and world famous purpose-built comedy club (31 years), The Stand, is not only at the heart of the Fringe, but open all year round, it's not to be missed. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, with cabaret-style seating and standing room. All tickets are general admission. First come, first served, queuing advised. Venue is down 9 steps through courtyard at basement level. Latecomers may not be admitted.

Accessibility

The venue has unreserved seating and standing room so prior warning and early access is required. Sold-out shows are very cramped. Access is via stairs at the front of the building. The stairs are well lit and in good condition. Seven steps down, turn 90deg, then two more steps to gain access. Staff are always available to assist, however we cannot help to carry customers. Advance notice is appreciated - email admin@thestand.co.uk or by phone on 0131 558 7272. There is Level access to backstage loo which is suitable for someone with minor mobility issues but it is not a full disabled toilet. We are happy to book a free of charge carer's ticket and to provide a queue jumping service so you can get in before the rest of the audience if you wish. Limited access to some parts of venue site, No wheelchair accessible toilet, No reserved accessible parking, On street blue badge parking, Assistance dogs welcome in all areas. Stand 1 is in a basement, access is by stairs at the front of the building from the pavement. Stairs are well lit and in good condition. Seven steps down, turn 90 degrees, then two more to gain access. This venue is not wheelchair accessible. Staff are always available to assist customers, however we cannot help to carry customers. The venue has standing room first come for seating.
